The occupied district court refused to request a two-week delay in the criminal trial on June 27th by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to YNET, Israeli Judge Rivka Friedman-Feldman said in a statement that the demand previously proposed by Netanyahu’s lawyers “does not provide a detailed basis or reason that could justify the cancellation of the evidence hearing.”
Earlier on Friday, the Israeli Attorney’s Office opposed the request, saying, “The general reason detailed in the request is that we cannot cancel the two-week hearing, particularly leading up to the break.”
The State Attorney’s Office added that it has already adjusted its schedule to respond to the Israeli Prime Minister, including allowing him to testify twice a week rather than three times a week.
“Therefore, the prosecutors are opposed to the demand,” he said.
