Israeli occupation forces arrested Nasser al-Rahham, director of the office of occupying Palestine, al-Mayanden, during a pre-dawn raid at his home in Beit Raam on the southwest bank.
Local sources reported that the arrest entailed intentional acts of vandalism as soldiers attack Al-Raham’s residence, breaking furniture and grabbing personal cell phones belonging to him and his family.
The same source told Al Mayadeen that internal Israeli security service Shin Bet is directly responsible for Al Raham’s arrest on the occupied West Bank.
Sources said Singh Bett officials specifically targeted Al Raham’s broadcast studios during the attack and actively searched for electronics and media devices related to his journalistic work.
In related developments, the Israeli occupation regime extended al-Raham’s detention until Thursday, moving his case to the Offer Military Court, located west of Ramallah, for detention hearing. The move illustrates a potentially long-term legal process for one of Palestine’s most prominent media figures.
The arrest sparked widespread criticism from Palestinian political and media circles. Palestinian political activist Sinan Shakdeh told Al Mayaden, “The arrest of journalist Nasser al-Raham has several meanings, most notably his efforts to target the story to challenge the Israeli version of the events surrounding the ongoing genocide.”
