Tehran – Soldiers from the Israeli occupation have been caught up in a sophisticated ambush known as one of the “fatalest” since October 7, 2023.
The Israeli occupation forces officially confirmed the deaths of at least five soldiers from the Netza Yehuda Brigade, reporting 14 people injured in Beit Hanon, north of Gaza.
The Hebrew media reported dozens of casualties and criticised the occupation regime’s military censorship rules in rare moves.
As explained by Israeli regime media, “difficult incidents” raise more questions than the answers of the war government’s government, Benjamin Netanyahu.
It takes a major blow to the image of military domination that the occupying regime is trying to project.
Beit Hanong, a town in the northeastern Gaza Strip, was one of the first regions to be devastated in the early stages of the Israeli occupation war on October 7, 2023.
Within the first 20 days, the town was subjected to indiscriminate airstrikes and reduced to tile rubs. It was also the first urban area to face a full-scale invasion of the ground.
The town’s strategic importance is its proximity to the Israeli occupation settlement less than three kilometers from Sederot, making Beit Hanoun a priority for the government.
Now, one of the most fatal cases since the first invasion in this very region after the 21 months of US-backed war of genocide in Gaza, a massive embarrassment that has settled deeply against the settlers’ population.
Abu Ubaida, spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigade, said the operation was carried out on the battlefield.
This case highlights a broader truth. The officially declared purpose of the Israeli occupation regime to eliminate Palestinian resistance has proven to be a huge failure.
Despite imposing suffocating blockades and employing various brutal tactics, Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) continue to suffer daily victims, being killed or wounded by Palestinian resistance fighters who refused to be broken.
Attempts to maintain a long-term occupation in Gaza have become increasingly unsustainable and fatal for Tel Aviv.
What emerged was a full-scale war of attrition between the IOF and the highly resilient Palestinian resistance.
So, what happened with Beit Hanou?
Palestinian resistance fighters carried out a carefully coordinated ambush. The first explosive device targeted the IOF tank. The second device attacked rescuers who arrived at the scene. The third explosive targeted additional rescue teams, and finally, a fourth device, combined with light weapon fire, targeted those already injured in the first explosion.
In the midst of the chaos, three IOF soldiers went missing. One of them was later found to have died. There is a fear that at least one could have been lured. Five Israeli military helicopters transported the deaths and were injured at Ichirov Hospital in Tel Aviv.
According to Hebrew media, the actual number of injured people in this “difficult incident” could be dozens, much higher than the officially recognized one.
The Alcasam Brigade, the armed wings of Hamas that Netanyahu had vowed to eradicate, argued for responsibility for a very sophisticated operation.
Over the past few months, Palestinian resistance fighters have grown boldly, often coming out of tile bles in devastating regions, making direct involvement and detonating pre-planted explosives.
This tactic is now a hallmark of resistance operations throughout the Gaza Strip, from Khan Yunis in the south to Jabaria in the north.
Despite repeated invasions and temporary capture by IOF forces forced to retreat under fire, there were no signs of collapse or fatigue within Palestinian resistance.
On the contrary, the longer the genocide continues, the more evidence of strategic planning, disciplined coordination, and high levels of military command among Palestinian fighters emerges.
On the other side there is clear evidence of fatigue and despair among IOF soldiers. In particular, an army with a vast array of sophisticated and sophisticated military technology takes two years to eliminate enemies trapped in small territory the size of Gaza.
The military options pursued by the Israeli occupation backfired. In particular, the only instances where prisoners of war were released from Gaza occurred through ceasefires, not through military operations.
In a Telegram post, Abu Ubaida warned that if the Israeli occupation regime rescues soldiers from what he described as “hell,” it would not be successful again. He also hinted that more soldiers will be captured in the future.
Additionally, Abu Ubaida warned Netanyahu that the “silliest decision” he could make is to maintain the IOF forces within the Gaza Strip.
It is clear that the resilience and courage of the Palestinians are what shapes the reality on earth and defines the next stage.
