Tehran – A centuries-old tree known as “Rahumat”, also known as “Silin and Farhad”, is tall near the famous Tak-e-Bostan in western Iran, reaching its 604th year of life.
In an interview with ISNA, Mohammad Mehdi Feiz Aghaei, who presides on Taq-e Bostan’s national base, named the Rahmat tree the oldest tree in history, adding, “Fortunately, there are documents, photographs and historical stories about creatures that have been around for many years.”
He added: “Four years ago we held a ceremony to celebrate the 600th anniversary of this old tree, and now it’s 604th anniversary.”
Recited the Ramat tree as the most famous and beloved tree among the Kermansha people, he said:
He added: “However, most people in Kermansha call this tree the Ramat tree, and there are two stories about this naming. One is because, in the popular literature of this city, the flat tree is a symbol of mercy and fertility, and the subsidence in autumn is a green existence, so when autumn is green, there is a green person, and they themselves.”
Feiz Aghaei said: Another narration says that in ancient times a person named Rahmat built a small shoe store and coffee house in a large hole inside the trunk of this tree, and made a living through this.
The Rahmat tree said it was listed on the Iranian national heritage list in 2010, adding that it is the only nationally registered nature monument in the Taq Bostan region.
Referring to the large hole in the trunk of this tree, the director of Taq Bostan National Park said: “The restoration phase has been carried out on this tree for the past few years. In the past few months, we have requested experts to travel to Kelmansha from the list of national natural heritage and provide the opinions of experts to restore this tree.”
He continued. “To protect this old tree, we implement a conservation plan every year, stabilizing the tissue inside the tree, pruning excess parts, continuing fertilization, removing excess elements at the bottom of the tree, and more.”
In addition to the Ramat trees, it also states that there are many other old and thick trees in the Takubostan area. Phase Agay said:
