Hadan is one of Iran’s ancient cities and offers several historic and natural charms to travelers around the world. Many historians consider the city to be the capital of Iran’s history and civilization.
Hadan, also known as the Ekbatana of the Classic Times, was once one of the most important cities in the ancient world. It boasts a wealth of tourist attractions. Notable landmarks include the Cave of Alisaddle, the Tomb of Abu Alisina, the ancient inscriptions of Ganjuname and the Arabian Dome, which promises a rewarding experience for visitors.
Hamedan spread across highlands and was initially urbanized by Medes, Assyrians, Persians and Parthians. It may not be a legendary metropolis once, but it boasts all the culture you’d expect from a place with such a long history.
A trip to the city will showcase a collection of historical monuments from various eras, such as the historic city of Ekbatana, as well as natural wonders such as the Ali Saddle Cave.
Hadan was selected as the tourist capital of Asia in 2024, following efforts by the Hadan City Council Tourism Committee and the local government’s Tourism Headquarters.
