TEHRAN – Leza Hemati, Deputy Director of Tourism Division in Tehran, has announced that medical tourism permits will be issued to 10 travel agents in Tehran.
He explained that medical tourists will be offering comprehensive service packages, including medical visas, accommodation bookings, translation services, airport transfers and post-treatment support, ensuring a safe, professional and comfortable experience for foreign patients.
Pointing to the release of Tehran’s comprehensive health tourism document, he said today that the effectiveness and results of the document are clearly visible in the development of the health tourism infrastructure in Tehran.
He called these permits signs of trust in Tehran’s medical potential, adding, “We are trying to turn Tehran into a pioneering destination in the region in terms of health tourism, with active contributions from the state sector, medical universities and the private sector.”
Given the sensitivity to this issue, the process of monitoring the activities of permitted institutions is carried out accurately, regularly and continuously to ensure the quality of service, he said.
Experts say Iran’s medical tourism sector is offering a scenario that is beneficial to both sides. Patients benefit from accessible and quality care, but the country has earned valuable foreign currency and has grown its international reputation.
