TEHRAN – The flames of pasture fire surrounding Abe Forest (“Crowd Forest”) in Charudded on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Lieutenant Governor Semnan said it was completely contained after the relentless efforts of rescuers.
Farajollah Iliat also said the investigation shows that the locality and privacy of the Hyrcanian Forest World Heritage site have been spared the damages from the incident.
He added that restless efforts by rescue forces, volunteer forces and administrative agencies have prevented the fire from spreading to Abe Forest as the fire was contained and the fully deployed troops in the area.
Pointing to the presence of local military forces, he said the situation in the area is currently stable and is in the final stage of surveillance and care.
Also, Mohammad-Sadeq Razavian, head of Shahroud Cultural Heritage, said that despite the extent of the pasture and environmental fires at Abre Forest, there was no damage to the area or precincts of the Hyrcanian Forest World Heritage site.
Thanking the force for rounded efforts to put out the fire, he said unique coordination and public participation with the government agencies led to putting out the fire in as little time as possible.
He added that the initial estimate showed that nearly 35 hectares of pasture were on fire.
Shahroud’s ABR (cloud) forest is part of the most beautiful Hailakan forest with the eldest son, with rare animals and plant species, and is one of the most beautiful places in Shahroud. In this forest, clouds are approaching the trees, making it appear that the forest is riding on the clouds and you can wander through them. Many tourists believe this is one of the most scenic places of Iran’s nature.
