Tehran, the leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, has condemned what he described as systematic crimes by the Israeli government against women and children in Gaza and other conflict zones.
Speaking at an event to combat violence against women on Islamic Day, Hakim urged the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) and the Arab Federation (AL) to take decisive and responsible measures.
Hakim accused Israel of committing acts of murder, siege, destruction and evacuation, calling these policies symbolized evidence of “organized violence” and broader moral degradation amongst the regime’s supporters. He said such violations should not have been answered by the “free state of the world.”
Iraqi leaders have expressed solidarity with women and children affected by conflicts across the region, including Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iran, calling for a growing attention to the suffering of Palestinian women from the Islamic world.
Turning to regional dynamics, Hakim warned of escalating instability in Iraq’s neighborhoods and awkward global resistance to confronting Israeli invasions. He described the ongoing anxiety in Syria as a direct threat to regional security, highlighting the need for collective, coordinated diplomacy.
Reminiscence of Iraq’s resilience in the face of ISIS and other crises, Hakim believes in religious authorities, national unity, and social unity for past victory. He urged political and cultural leaders to communicate in a “language of hope,” spread despair and reject psychological wars that undermine the morale of the people.
Finally, Hakim called on the OIC and the Arab League to rise up at historic moments and adopt a positive, unified, strategic attitude.
