TEHRAN – The Hamas Resistance has denounced a recent statement by the US administration on ceasefire negotiations and accused them of protecting Israel’s occupation regime.
Hamas reiterated his commitment to negotiations and a serious desire to reach a comprehensive agreement to end the Israeli war with Gaza.
The resistance has expressed surprise at the comments made by US President Donald Trump and previous comments by US envoy Steve Witkoff.
The movement said these statements contradicted the mediator’s assessment and did not reflect the reality of the negotiation process.
The mediation parties, particularly Qatar and Egypt, emphasized that they expressed their gratitude for Hamas’ serious and constructive stance.
During a press conference, Hamas’ Izat Al-Rishuk formula criticized the US for ignoring “the real obstacle to any agreement.” He also accused the Netanyahu government of creating obstacles, engaged in delays and violating previous commitments.
Al-Rishq emphasized that Hamas acted with state responsibility and great flexibility from the start of negotiations.
He said the movement is eager to end the war on genocide and reach a comprehensive agreement that will reduce the suffering of Gaza’s population.
Al-Rishq also said Hamas’ latest response came after extensive national consultations with Palestinian factions, mediators and friendly countries.
Officials added that Hamas was constructively and flexibly involved in all comments and proposals raised, including those within Witkov’s own proposal.
In its response, Hamas highlighted the need for clear and enforceable conditions, particularly on humanitarian issues.
It called for an unhindered flow of aid distributed through the United Nations and its approved bodies without interference from the Israeli occupation regime.
According to Al-Rishq, Hamas also insisted that Israeli occupation forces remain for 60 days and reduce the size of the buffer zone that would not allow most displaced people to return home.
Hamas also dismissed accusations by the US administration that aid intended for Gaza had been stolen. These claims are unfounded and have been disproved recently by a Reuters report citing the USAID investigation.
Furthermore, Hamas called on the US administration to halt the provision of political and military coverage of the Israeli administration. The Israeli regime continues its extinction and starvation campaign against more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza under international surveillance.
Hamas urged Washington to put pressure on the Israeli regime to end genocide, lead to a fair prisoner exchange agreement and take it seriously to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
“Hamas really didn’t want to make a deal. They want to die. I think that’s a very bad thing. And that’s what you have to get the job done. (Hamas) pulled out (of negotiations).”
