Tehran – The rapid rise in injuries to Israeli professional soldiers is taking a major blow to the regime’s economy and society.
The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that since October 7, 2023, more than 18,500 Israeli soldiers have been injured and thousands have been suffering from severe psychological trauma.
It estimates that the number of injured people could reach 100,000 by 2028.
According to information and data cited in the administration’s “Ministry of Defense” paper, many of these soldiers not only left military service, but also ended the labor market.
This means their influence will affect the broader Israeli economy and society beyond the military.
The report shows that almost half of the soldiers expected to be injured in the coming years will suffer from mental health issues, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Yedioth Ahronoth also said the expected number of injuries, which were expected to be first reached by 2030, is expected by 2028 as mental health cases rose sharply. This forced Israeli government officials to reevaluate their systems, budgets and treatment plans.
It confirmed that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) had confirmed the deaths of nine other men during the clashes in southern Gaza, and that at least nine other soldiers were injured, including some of the serious conditions.
Israeli media reported casualties in two incidents in the southern Gaza Strip.
Of the injured, three were reported to be in very serious condition, while the other four were seriously injured while being called the “security incident” by Khan Eunice.
This follows the IOF, who admits that reconnaissance officers and soldiers were seriously injured in another incident during the battle at Rafah.
The administration’s public broadcaster reported that the commander of the desert reconnaissance battalion was injured along with officers and soldiers due to the explosion of an improvised explosion device (IED) at a tunnel opening in a buffer zone near Rafa.
A day ago, the IOF announced the deaths of technology and maintenance personnel and soldiers from the Golani Brigade during battles in southern Gaza.
According to a Hebrew report, Hamas had installed an explosive device on Khan Eunice’s Namah armored staff carrier, causing a fire and death.
