Tehran – Protests that continue to sweep Israel’s catastrophic war and careful hunger campaight as activists, politicians and ordinary citizens demand an end to violence and immediate humanitarian aid.
On Sunday, demonstrators gathered outside the US consulate in Istanbul. They raised the Palestinian flag and cried out slogans denounced Israeli blockade in Gaza. Their message was clear. The international community must be held accountable to Israel for ongoing atrocities.
Meanwhile, in Sydney, Australia, tens of thousands endured heavy winds and rain as tens of thousands marched across the iconic port bridge in a fierce “March for Humanity.” Protesters carried pots and pans, symbolizing forced starvation that endured Gaza’s population, calling for a ceasefire and unlimited aid.
Police estimated attendance at around 90,000, but organizers said the number could reach 300,000. New South Wales Sen. Malene Falki addressed the crowd, demanding “the harshest sanctions against Israel,” and condemned the “genocide” of Palestinians as an unpunished crime.
Author Anthony Lowenstein, who publishes Israel’s arms industry, emphasized the role of the Australian government and denounced the accomplices for supplying fighter jets used in the shelling of Gaza. Lowenstein pointed out that Australia is deeply entangled with Israeli war machinery, bringing benefits from destruction.
Gaza’s humanitarian crisis has reached devastating levels. Since October 2023, more than 180 people (more than half of their children died of starvation caused by the Israeli siege). Israeli forces also killed nearly 900 people near the Aid Distribution Centre run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is a US- and Israel-backed initiative that has been criticized as a “death trap” due to repeated fatal attacks.
Tragically, hundreds of people have died trying to access a food convoy of the future, further highlighting the brutal reality of the siege. Overall, the Israeli war advocates the lives of more than 60,800 Palestinians in Gaza, and reports from Israeli human rights groups confirm genocide allegations.
The intentional hunger, mass murder, and systematic destruction of Gaza reveal the state’s policies aimed at collective punishment and ethnic cleansing. This campaign cannot be dismissed as a collateral damage or a by-product of an unfortunate war. This is a calculated effort to crush Palestinian resistance by the necessary means.
The world’s silence and inaction in the face of these crimes only burned the apartheid regime in Israel. Without decisive global intervention, Israel will continue its genocide path, supported by conspiracy governments and military suppliers around the world. Palestinian justice not only denounces but also calls for concrete measures to end the siege of Israel, hold leaders accountable, and ensure freedom and dignity for the people of Gaza.
The global protests are a powerful reminder that the fight for Palestine’s rights and liberation will not be silenced, and that Israel’s struggle against attacks and oppression must be strengthened until peace and justice win.
