This year marks the 80th anniversary of the world’s anti-fascist war and victory in the establishment of the United Nations.
Eighty years ago, in the face of the dark and evil forces of fascism, people from various countries, nations, social systems and ideologies united to secure victory of justice and peace through incredible sacrifices, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the postwar world order and the pursuit of lasting peace for humanity.
Over the past 80 years, under the theme of peace and development, human civilizations driven by waves of scientific innovation enjoy unprecedented prosperity, and the world has been more interconnected than ever before.
Today, 80 years from now, the world changes that we do not see in the century are unfolding at a faster pace. Changes in the world, our time, and historical trajectories are happening like never before. Again, humanity has come to the intersection of unity or division, dialogue or conflict, cooperation that is beneficial to both sides, or zero-sum games.
As representatives of young people around the world, we deeply value peace and understand the responsibility our generation has created. Only by cherishing peace and supporting unity can humanity embrace a brighter future. To this end, we have issued this World Youth Peace Initiative strictly to call on youth around the world to unite in protecting peace, promoting development and shaping a shared future.

We call on young people to protect world peace. Don’t distort history. Justice must be supported and peace must be maintained. Young people in all countries should draw wisdom from history, take concrete action to protect peace, oppose all forms of war and violence, and reject one-sided, hegemony and protectionism. Together, we must defend the hard-fought results of victory in World War II, protect the United Nations internationally under international law, practice true multilateralism, and contribute youthful strength to the cause of world peace.
We are calling on youth to mutual learning from pioneer among civilizations. To protect world peace, we should first build a defense of peace in our hearts. Young people in all countries contribute youthful wisdom to maintain the principles of equality, mutual learning, dialogue and inclusiveness among civilizations, transcend cultural learning, transcend mutual learning, coexist, coexist, promote harmony among civilizations, and deepen friendship among people.
We call on young people to advocate for victory cooperation. Development is the foundation of peace. Young people in all countries should adhere to a mutual philosophy of cooperation and a common development that is beneficial to both parties. By making the most of multilateral and regional mechanisms and platforms, we need to deepen and expand youth cooperation, actively participate in the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the results of future culminations, infuse new momentum to bridge global development divisions, and promote inclusive and equitable global growth.
We appeal to young people to tackle climate change. Climate change poses a threat to our shared homes on Earth. Youth in all countries need to act in the spirit of “promoting global solidarity,” actively engage in global climate action, provide innovative solutions to the climate crisis, improve global ecological governance, and demonstrate youth commitment in tackling and dealing with international challenges.
We call on young people to promote “technology for social benefits.” Technological advancements bring opportunities for peace, but they also pose new challenges. Young people in all countries should be at the forefront of emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, shoulder responsibility, and work for the goal of technological advancements benefiting all of humanity, digital development remains inclusive and contributing to improving global technological governance and building an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable global future.
Eighty years ago, our predecessors united and illuminated the darkness. It is up to us (young people) to define our future through action 80 years from now. Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the world’s anti-fascist war, take the establishment of the United Nations as a new starting point. Unite for peace and embrace your hands for a shared future for humanity!
