Tehran – Gilan Province is one of the top states in the tourism sector, said Javad Vahedi, a senior official at the Tourism Bureau.
Speaking at the Head of the Guillan Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department on Tuesday, Vahedi added that Gilan, which has great potential in the historical, cultural and tourism sectors, hosts many domestic and foreign tourists every year.
“Gilan Province has high expectations given its existing possibilities and capabilities and we hope to witness further development and infrastructure development in this state by addressing existing flaws.”
Gilan Province is a country’s tourism pilot, he noted that special attention should be paid to the creation of tourism infrastructure, attracting investors.
Emphasizing the nationwide consensus to create tourism infrastructure in Iran, he said he recently passed a budgetary law resolution that 5% of the assets acquired by the Iranian parliament (Majlis) have been allocated to the states and that Gilan’s tourism infrastructure adjustments do not lie in the rules.
Pointing to the entrance of six million visitors to Gilan province after the start of the 12-day Israeli war with Iran, he said that fortunately, the cooperation and support of the people and measures taken by officials did not raise any special issues, allowing the state to provide the best service in the field of security and meet the needs of its visitors.
He thanked and thanked all managers of the facilities in the tourism sector in Gilan Province, he said that the private sector produced epics in this war, and in an unprecedented move, opening doors to people to housing, hotels and ecolodges, offering services at up to 90% discounts and in some cases free accommodation.
Gilan Province, in northern Iran, has greatly boosted the tourism industry. Most visited places in the province include the picturesque village of Masle, the ancient Rudkan Castle (aka Karerudkan), and the Museum of the countryside of Gilan.
