BEIRUT – Various parts of Lebanon have had waves of protest in various parts of Lebanon over the decision to impose a “weapon ban” on the Hezbollah Resistance movement.
The decision came amidst Israel’s continued strike against Lebanon and the occupation of certain points in the South. The decision shows that the Salam government is fully compliant with the orders of the US and Israel.
Angry and frustrated protesters chanted slogans against the government, the US, Israel and government decisions. Protesters viewed the recognition as a violation of national defense doctrine.
Hezbollah confirmed that ratification was “a great crime of stealing Lebanon from the weapon of resistance to Israel’s enemy, and that it interacts with it as if it were not present.
For that part, Amal’s move called for a withdrawal and “modification of the course of the event.”
Tensions in particular increased after Shia ministers withdrew from their second cabinet session. He acted as if he was an envoy of the US administration in Lebanon.
Salam insisted on involving the military in conflict with Hezbollah after being tasked with “developing an implementation plan to be presented to the Cabinet 31 days earlier this month for discussion and approval.”
Salam ignored the views of key elements of the country’s political elite. He did not consider the observations by his minister. The Hezbollah and the Amal Movement demand that the government revise its course and return to Lebanon’s solidarity.
It is noteworthy that Shiite alliances, Hezbollah and the Amal Movement, took part in the session at the argument of Congress President Nabi Beli.
Nevertheless, Salam and the enemy of resistance acted in the language of the victor and attempted to pass the orders of the US envoy, Thomas Barrack, as soon as possible.
After the government approved what is called the “purpose of American papers,” the US envoy wrote about X:
Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that Tel Aviv had sent a letter to the Syrian government asking for the deployment of general security services in southern Syria on behalf of the army it opposes.
Israel’s Kang News Outlet reported that Israel continues to oppose the deployment of Syrian forces in the South, saying that Israel has called for the presence of forces from Syrian introspection, a member of the Druze community.
Furthermore, a report released by the Israeli Research and Policy Research Center confirmed that Israel’s security needs in occupied northern Palestine does not allow withdrawal from southern Lebanon and Syria, highlighting that the ongoing presence of Israel’s military position in Syria is a “necessary and long-term security position.”
The report stated that the ongoing presence of Israel’s military position in southern Syria is not a temporary negotiation card, but a long-term security position determined by complex fields and political realities.
