TEHRAN – Two Iranian wood carving artists from Karmanshah participated in Osaka International Art 2025 and announced wooden sculptures and cultural consultations highlighting the Iranian handicraft tradition, Iranian officials said on Sunday.
Dalyush Farmani, head of the Kalmansha Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Bureau, said the event brought together Iranian artists Alileza Babandpur and Masudo Langazan as representatives of the nation.
“The event provided an opportunity to get a glimpse into Iran’s artistic and cultural capabilities on an international platform,” Farmani said.
During the event, Babandpur and Langarzan created two wooden lion cub sculptures presented as symbols of Iran’s creativity and cultural exchange.
In addition to the artwork, Babandpur, who represents Iran’s World Wood Day, gave a presentation at the conference. He reported on six previous World Wood Day events held in Kelmanshah and discussed cultural exchange programs between Iran and China.
According to Bavandpour, the meeting allowed them to share their experiences with holding art events in Iran, adding that related films and materials were released during the programme.
He described the Osaka event as a platform to showcase Iran’s artistic efforts and promote cultural interaction.
