Israel has put some supplies in the Gaza Strip, but it is not enough to avoid widespread starvation, the UN Human Rights Office said Tuesday.
“In the past few weeks, Israeli authorities have only allowed them to enter aid in a volume that is far less than what is needed to avoid widespread starvation,” Thameen Al-Kheetan, a spokesman for the UN Human Rights Office, told a briefing in the Geneva press.
He added that the risk of starvation in Gaza is “a direct result of the Israeli government’s policy of blocking humanitarian assistance.”
Palestinian medical sources say that since Israel launched the Israeli war in October 2023, more than 260 Palestinians have died in Gaza as a result of an artificial hunger and hunger campaign.
