TEHRAN – Hamas and other Palestinian resistance facts have announced approval of the ceasefire proposal presented by the mediator.
A Palestinian official told local media that the proposal includes several important provisions. It stipulates withdrawal by Israeli occupation forces up to 1,000 meters deep in the northern and eastern Gaza Strip, except for the Shujaiya and Beitrahia regions in northern Gaza.
In exchange for the release of 10 living Israeli prisoners, 140 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to more than 15 years will be sentenced to life in prison. Additionally, 1,500 Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip will be released.
The proposal also includes adjustments to the north and east relocation maps. Humanitarian aid will begin flowing to Gaza as soon as the agreement is implemented. Aid provided in large scale adjusted freight will be provided under the framework of the January 19th, 2025 agreement.
This humanitarian package includes fuel, water, electricity, hospital and bakery rehabilitation, and debris removal equipment. The United Nations, its agencies, Red Crescent and other international organizations operating in Gaza are responsible for receiving and distributing aid.
The Rafa intersection in southern Gaza will open in both directions, in line with the previous agreement. Sources also revealed that all the Palestinian bodies that have been returned to all Israeli prisoners will be released.
Additionally, the proposal calls for the release of all Palestinian women and children held in Israeli prisons.
Separately, Reuters said the latest ceasefire proposal includes a 60-day suspension of military operations, citing an unknown Egyptian official who said it included a prisoner exchange that looked at Palestinian detainees in exchange for half of Israeli prisoners.
Hebrew Channel 13 said Israel had officially received Hamas’ response from the mediator.
Yedioth Ahronoth said, “In the end, Netanyahu must explain to his minister and the public why he is pursuing a partial agreement that is less likely to be what was on the table a month ago.”
The report suggests that Netanyahu is pursuing a ceasefire agreement despite Netanyahu’s plans to occupy Gaza city north.
“There’s no need for fantasy. It wasn’t an Israeli threat to grab Gaza, which changed Hamas’ attitude. What exactly are we threatening to ‘destroy the buildings’? Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
Domestic pressure on Netanyahu’s government has intensified due to protests on Mass Street, the rise in Israeli military casualties caused by the resistance, and the failure to retrieve prisoners from the Gaza Strip despite a long-term war of genocide.
Internationally, the Israeli regime is increasingly isolated as miserable images of massive starvation continue to emerge from Gaza, even among its traditional allies.
Yedioth Ahronoth asked: “What’s it now? If Israel says ‘no’ to a deal, it’s going to fall into a trap. If mere stories about Gaza’s control already lead to calls for sanctions, then the actual military entry into Gaza will cause a much more serious collapse. ”
“It should always be remembered. There is always room for a low sink. Once you enter Gaza, all the scenes of atrocities, destruction, devastation and death fall into a collapse, Hamas says “yes” and Israel says “yes.” Israel. ”
The intermediaries that presented the proposal to Hamas were Egypt and Qatar, while the ceasefire framework was developed in conjunction with the US.
