Israeli fighters on Sunday bombed several civilian sites in Sanaa in Yemen’s capital Sanaa, targeting the Central Hazes Power Station and oil company stations on Sixtys Street, according to local media.
Al Masilah reported that the attack killed two people and injured dozens. The Hebrew media also claimed that Tel Aviv had attempted to target the Presidential Palace of Yemen.
Israeli forces claimed military infrastructure targeting strikes, but Yemeni officials dismissed these claims as “lies.” “Israel bombed civilian infrastructure to torture Yemenis,” said Abed Al-Tar, an official from Yemeni’s Ministry of Defence.
Local media said civil defense teams made tireless efforts to eliminate the fire caused by the explosion, extinguishing the fire caused by the explosion.
Furthermore, the Hebrew media claimed that more than 10 Israeli jets were firing around 40 ammunition deep into Sanaa.
Despite the scale of the attack, Yemeni oil companies assured citizens that precautions have been taken to maintain a stable oil supply.
The Yemeni government issued a strong language statement saying, “The Israeli enemy and its direct US partners are fully responsible for the serious consequences of this dangerous attack and heinous crime.”
“These brutal airstrikes will not stop the great Yemeni people from a solid and legitimate attitude of full support for the people of Gaza,” he emphasized.
The strike comes amid continuing solidarity operations between Yemen and Palestine. Palestine has targeted missiles and drones to Israel, as well as targets of Israeli shipping and its major suppliers and Red Sea suppliers for over 22 months.
The Yemeni military says these actions aim to put pressure on Israel to end the siege and atrocities in Gaza. Mohammed al-Bukaiti, an Ansalala civil servant, reiterated this commitment, declaring that “Israel invasion of Yemen will not prevent us from continuing our support for Gaza, regardless of sacrifice.”
