Tehran – Persan Bay is the warmest waters in the world. Despite the salty water, there are 200 freshwater springs on the floor, and 25 completely fresh springs on the coast of the Persian Sea, which originates from the Zagros Mountains.
Arvand, Karoun, Diyala, Zab, Jarrahi, Dalaki, and Minab are the largest and most abundant rivers that flow into the Persian Gulf, Irna reported.
In addition to the abundant oil and gas resources and the presence of important marine waterways, this vast water spread creates a very special situation in relation to tourism in the region. The Strait of Hormuz as an important part of the Persian Gulf is the most sensitive region of the Persian Sea.
The islands of Qeshm, Hengam, Lark and Hormuz are close to each other, and therefore situated in the heart of the Strait of Hormuz and form connected continuous geographical units with high natural and cultural capabilities suitable to become the main tourist hub of the region.
The Persian Gulf is home to 130 small and large islands, scattered across a variety of locations. The largest island in the Persian Gulf is Qeshm, which is approximately 115 km long and 10-15 km wide. From the Strait of Hormuz to the north of the Persian Gulf, the Iranian islands of the Persian Gulf are Hormuz, Lark, Qeshm, Hengham, Greater Tamb, Greater Musa, Greater Faar, Lesser Faar, Siri, Lavan, Hendrabi, Quiche, Umal Karama, Nakula, Nakula, Nakula, Um Akalam Kharko, Buneh, Haj Salbukh, Dara. In the Persian Gulf it is the southernmost and farthest island in the Persian Gulf.
Qeshm: Qeshm is the largest island in the Persian Gulf. It is located in the state of Hormozgan. Mangrove forests, Harves Caves, Chakow Straits, Blue Dolphins, Persian Gulf, Star Valley, Naz Islands and Namakudan caves are part of the island’s charm.
Lalak: Lalak is one of the Iranian islands in the Strait of Hormoz at the eastern end of the Persian Gulf and is part of the province of Hormozgan. The island is oval and its only village is the urban village of Lalac. There is no agricultural activity on the island, and locals are involved in fishing, diving and ecotourism.
Hengham: Hengham is another Iranian island in the Persian Gulf, with a small settlement covering an area of about 50 square kilometers south of Qeshm Island in Hormozgan province, with salt, clay and lead mines. Hengham is best known for its natural and incredible attractions, and one of these attractions is the presence of dolphins in the waters near the island’s coast.
Hormuz: Hormuz is Iranian island in the Persian Gulf, 8 km from Bandar Abbas. With an area of over 42 square kilometers, this oval island is located near the Strait of Hormuz and is a tourist destination in southern Iran. Located north of the island, the city of Hormuz is the only most populous point on the island. Hormus is considered the key to the Persian Gulf due to its geographical location and proximity to the Strait of Hormus.
Quiche: Quiche is a sports resort island located in Bandarrange County, Hormozgan Province, in the Persian Gulf. Quiche is one of Iran’s main tourist destinations due to its free trade zone, entertainment and commercial centres, tourist attractions and numerous hotels.
Abu Musa: Abu Musa is another Iranian island in the Persian Gulf. The island covers approximately 12 square kilometers. The distance between Abu Musa and the Tambu Islands is the only navigable route for large oil tankers due to the proper depth of the water. Abu Musa is the southernmost island of Iran in the Persian Gulf and the closest island to the equator.
Lavan: Lavan is one of the islands in the Hormozgan province of the Persian Gulf and is also an area of the Rural Laban area in the Kish district of Bandarrange County. It is located across the street from Gavbandi and Shibkouh region, but is close to the Shibkouh region. The island leads from the northeast to Bandar Makam and from the east to Sidbah Island, 28 km west of Nakilu Beach, located in the waters of the Persian Gulf.
Large and Small Tuners: According to the national division, Sita Tumb is part of Abu Musa County, Hormozgan. Greater Tambug was promoted to the city in March 2024. Tembu is the island of Iran in the Persian Gulf and is a tourist attraction in the province of Hormozgan. Tunb is the word Tanjistani, meaning “hill.”
