At least 50 Palestinians have been killed in the latest Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since dawn on Saturday, Gaza’s health ministry reported.
Twenty casualties were in Gaza city, but it faces sustained fire. In the central Nusirat refugee camp, Israeli attacks at home killed five people, including children, leaving others trapped under the tile rub, Al Jazeera reported. Four of the dead were seeking assistance when they were struck.
The province has also confirmed 10 deaths from hunger and malnutrition in the last 24 hours. This will result in a total number of hunger-related deaths since the war began with 332 people, including 124 children.
The Global Hanger Monitor, which has not declared hunger in parts of Gaza earlier this month, has seen 54 people (of which nine children) have died of starvation. The latest one is a baby girl, and observers of her death say it reflects the fatal effects of Israeli-made hunger.
Since October 2023, at least 63,371 people have been killed and 159,835 have been injured in the Israeli war with Gaza. Of these, 2,218 people lost their lives, and more than 16,434 were injured while desperately seeking the assistance they needed.
