Tehran – Isfahan’s huge tourist festival began to highlight the infinite charm of the province, where the capital of the same name was a seat of power in the 17th century.
Alileza Habibi, a state tourism agency official, told IRNA on Monday that 90 diverse tourism, culture and arts events will be held in various parts of the state during the one-month festival.
He said the festival aims to boost tourism and introduce a variety of state capabilities.
Habibi explained that 36 urban festivals, 30 rural festivals and 34 private sector festivals will be held. He called pomegranates, almonds, bread and ice cream, Adobe structures, Kabir carpets, handicrafts, local clothing and souvenirs part of the festival’s program.
The festival includes special support programs for tourists, he said during this period, some hotels and traditional accommodation, ecotourism and tourism centres are offering up to 30% discounts to travelers, as well as shopping centres, restaurants and entertainment spaces are also taking part in the discount plan.
He revealed that many accommodation centres have tried to attract more tourists by taking part in the plan.
According to him, the festival is a suitable opportunity to introduce the state’s natural, historical and cultural charm. All tourists both domestically and internationally will be invited to travel to Isfahan during this period and will benefit from its diverse programmes, he added.
Approximately 22,000 historical and architectural monuments in Isfahan and a set of intangible cultural heritage indicators, including food, rituals, celebrations, traditional skills and the production of handicrafts, reflect the history and culture of Iran in the region, making Isfahan one of Iraq’s most tourist-friendly.
Isfahan once stood at a crossroads in Iran’s international trade and diplomacy, but now for good reason it is one of Iran’s top tourist destinations. It is filled with many architectural wonders, including unparalleled Islamic buildings, bazaars, museums, Persian gardens, tree-lined paths and more. It is a city where you walk, get lost in a bazaar, a city where you can doze off in beautiful gardens and meet people.
The Persian proverb “Isfahan, Nezuhuejahan” (Isfahan is half the world) reflects the city’s cultural and historical prominence.
