TEHRAN – Iran will be presenting traditional handicrafts and art at Bangkok’s 70th YWCA diplomatic charity from November 6th to 9th, the Thai country’s Cultural Bureau said.
The YWCA Diplomacy Fair is one of Bangkok’s oldest international gatherings and is held annually through the participation of embassies and cultural representatives from around the world.
The Iranian booth will feature miniature paintings, enamel wear, engraved metalwork, glazed ceramics, katam and wooden inlays, Terte textiles and hand-woven carpets. The Cultural Bureau said the work serves as an example of Iranian history and civilization for thousands of local and international visitors.
“The participation aims to highlight the role of cultural diplomacy in strengthening relations between Iran, Thailand and other countries while introducing Iran’s cultural and artistic capabilities,” the Iranian Cultural Bureau said in a statement.
Last year’s edition of fairs featured over 200 booths over 1,500 square meters, showing cultural products and special festivals from 47 countries.
This year’s participants include Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Greece, Portugal and Peru.
