Tehran – Minister of Cultural Heritage and Diplomacy eased the formation of joint committees, the deployment of tourism consultants and investment as a strategic priority for the government.
According to Mehr’s press, the joint meeting of Seyyed Reza Salehi-Amiri and Seyyed Abbas Araghchi was held on Sunday at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
Explaining the Ministry of Cultural Heritage’s plans, Salehi Amiri said: “The formation of a joint committee between the cultural heritage and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a necessity to encourage cooperation. Tourism consultants from the target countries should be deployed. It should also stimulate embassies in the field of international tourism exhibitions and accompany foreign challenges.”
Referring to the investment capabilities of the tourism sector, he said 114 anonymous investment permits have been issued in the tourism sector within the past eight months.
The government is also increasing the appeal of investments by approving five important incentives, including zero tolls within the city and removing restrictions on complexes.
These reforms could pave the way for foreign investors to enter, he said, adding that once Egyptian tourists arrive in Iran, they could make a significant contribution to the booming tourism industry.
Following the conference, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghhi thanked the Minister of Cultural Heritage Reza Salehi-Amiri for his approach, saying, “We understand the cultural value of the existence of Iranian tourists and believe that today’s cultural diplomacy is one of the important needs to improve Iran’s image at the international level.”
He also emphasized the full preparation of diplomatic equipment to cooperate in the development of the tourism industry.
Araguchi added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports the formation of any type of joint committee or working group that can promote Iranian cooperation and provide a basis for expanding the presence of foreign tourists.
He states that the convergence of the capabilities of diplomatic and cultural heritage can present a more positive image of Iran at the international level, and this issue lies on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ agenda as a strategic necessity.
