Iran’s Chinese ambassador said Tehran – 60,000 Chinese tourists visit Iran every year, highlighting the deepening of Iran-China scientific and cultural ties.
During his visit to Mazandaran State University on Tuesday, the Chinese ambassador for Tehran Dzong Peiu stressed the importance of deepening scientific, cultural and technical collaboration between Iran and China for comprehensive development, Mehr’s news agency reported.
He said nearly 60,000 Chinese tourists visit Iran every year, viewing this as a valuable opportunity to enhance cultural and scientific exchanges between the two countries.
“The exchange of professors and students, collaboration of artificial intelligence and support for knowledge-based companies are key pillars to advance scientific partnerships with Iranian universities,” said Zhong Peiwu.
He said, “The Chinese Embassy in Iran is working to simplify the issuance of visas to help students and tourists strengthen connections between people and people and expand scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries.”
Zhong Peiwu also highlighted China’s Persian Language Education Program and the Chinese course at Mazandaran University, saying, “Promoting language and cultural education in both countries will help strengthen our relationship.”
In 2019, Tehran waived visa requirements for Chinese citizens in order to attract more tourists.
