Tehran – Under the slogan “From Farm to Clothing,” the fourth cotton festival will be held at Touska Farm on October 2nd on Touska Farm, Touskastan Road, Golgan, Golestan, and aims to promote tourism.
This is a national event that introduces the cultural and tourism capabilities of Golestan and offers new opportunities to combine agricultural heritage, traditional arts and indigenous rituals to strengthen the state’s status as a “land of white gold,” reported Milas Aeria (CHTN).
Leza Giasizadeh, head of Golgan’s Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Bureau, said the Fourth Cotton Festival will be held at Golgan simultaneously, along with World Cotton Day and Tourism Week, with the slogan reviving its roots and returning it to the sustainable principles of the cotton value chain.
He added that the festival was formed to revive “White Gold Land,” one of the state’s well-known brands, and reflects the historical and cultural importance of cotton in the local identity.
Ghiasizadeh explained that the festival will be held by the “Orsham” Art and Business Institute, which is a two-profile brand in the fields of Handicrafts and Tourism, with the cooperation of the Golestan Cultural Heritage department.
According to him, the official registration of the Cotton Festival under 20323860 on Iran’s National Tourism Calendar in September 2024 shows the national situation of this event and the ability to develop cultural tourism in the province.
Meanwhile, Majid Zamani, founder of Tooska Farm and executive director of the Cotton Festival, said the festival will include workshops on the fabric production process, including spinning, dyeing, weaving and needle factories, exhibitions of Golestan ethnic clothing, exhibitions of exhibitions and Handied Farm, and exhibits from tourist farms.
He added that indigenous rituals, local music and rhythmic movements, traditional hospitality, lighting and blessing artists, farmers and veterans are also part of the festival’s program.
