In an interview with the nation released Monday, US envoy Tom Barrack defended the Washington push to make the Lebanese Army (LAF) an agent of Hezbollah’s military, even if the US admits not to equip the army to stand up to Israel.
“Who are they going to fight? … You’re armed so they can fight their people, Hezbollah,” he said – language critics say it reflects that we are designed to interfere with the political and security dynamics within Lebanon.
Barack’s remarks came after the Pentagon approved a $14.2 million drawdown to “deteriorating Hezbollah.”
Israel has killed hundreds of civilians in border attacks since last year’s ceasefire, highlighting why many terrifying disarmament doesn’t stop the attack on Tel Aviv.
He also said, “Israel is attacking everyone… Israel is attacking Syria, Lebanon and Tunisia.” Earlier this month, it effectively confirmed Israel’s attacks on Israel’s global smooth fleet.
Declaring “Peace is an illusion,” Barrack acknowledged that West Asia does not have a durable US plan for stability.
