Tehran-Concurrent Torging Tourism Week (September 27th to October 3rd) will launch 43 tourist attractions, including traditional hotels, hotel apartments, traditional restaurants, recreational, entertainment centres and travel agents.
According to Mehr New Agency, he noted that the facilities were responsible for rial 566 billion ($5.66 million) worth of credit, creating 382 direct jobs.
The projects are being implemented in line with developing tourism infrastructure and meeting the growing needs of domestic and international tourists, he added.
He continued that the facilities that opened include traditional hotels, two hotel apartments, a recreational and entertainment centre, 10 catering units and 29 travel and tourism institutions.
Pointing out the importance of these projects in the economic prosperity of the capital, Tolouei said that private sector investments demonstrate confidence in the tourism market in Tehran and will help create sustainable jobs, improve the level of services and develop urban tourism.
He announced plans for the future of Tehran’s cultural heritage sector, adding that the creation of ecotourism resorts, the development of new recreation centres and the holding of cultural events will be subject to the agenda to transform Tehran into a four-season destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
Tehran is one of Iran’s main tourist destinations, and the city has many famous tourist attractions. In 2016, Tehran attracted 1.64 million foreign tourists. Tehran is home to several artistic, historical and scientific museums, including the World Heritage Golestan Palace, the National Museum of Iran, and the Carpet Museum. There is also a Museum of Contemporary Art, which hosts the works of artists such as Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso and Van Gogh.
