Tehran – Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts hosted the exhibition at the Central Headquarters to mark the sacred week of defense commemorating the Iran-Iraq war from 1980 to 1988.
The exhibition features artifacts of war veterans and fallen soldiers, as well as models of prominent figures such as General Kasem Soleimani and Commander Mohamad Ebrahim Hemat.
A banner entitled “Notes to the Martialists” was also on display, allowing visitors to leave written respect to those killed during the eight years of conflict.
The cultural competition was held alongside the exhibition, which made participants accustomed to the lives of martial artists and awarded the cultural award to attendees, the organizers said.
The sacred defense week, observed annually from the first day of the Iranian calendar month of Shahrivar 31, marks the outbreak of war when Iraqi President Saddam Hussein announced an Iranian invasion and ended the 1975 Algiers Agreement.
