Gaza’s Palestinian resistance faction responded to the “peace plan” introduced by US President Donald Trump on September 29, calling it “ambiguous” and accusing it of supporting Israel, and is aiming to “extend Gaza’s genocide.”
“We will not accept proposals that do not include the rights of Palestinians to self-determination and protection from the massacre,” declared Hamas Mahmoud Maldawi, adding that Trump’s announcement is “an attempt to suppress the international momentum and perception of the Palestinian state.”
According to Al Jazeera, Qatar and Egyptian officials put US and Israeli plans overnight to Hamas negotiation teams.
Ziad al-Nakhala, secretary-general of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), denounced the proposal, calling it a “US-Israel agreement, reflecting Israel’s full stance.”
“It is official to continue attacks on the Palestinians. Through this, Israel is trying to impose things that could not be achieved through the war through the United States. Therefore, we consider the US and Israel’s announcements to be a recipe to set the region on fire,” Nahara said.
Ismail Al-Thawabta, director of the government’s media office in Gaza, has rejected Trump’s 20-point plan, claiming that he would not provide a lasting solution, justify Israel’s occupation and impose trust that denied the Palestinians their rights.
“The only way to end genocide is to stop Israeli attacks, lift blockades, end systemic extinction, ensure the right to live in Palestinian freedom and establish an independent state.
Trump and Netanyahu jointly announced a 20-point proposal on Monday. This calls for an immediate halt of the battles in Gaza and the release of all the lively Israeli prisoners who died within 72 hours.
