Hezbollah Executive Director Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Saturday that US President Donald Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan for Gaza was designed to “help” Israel’s image on the international stage.
Sheikh Qassem spoke during the memorial service of Senior Commanders Sheikh Nabil Kawuk and Seyed Suhail al-Husseini, who described the plan as essentially an Israeli initiative under US cover. He pointed out that Israel is seeking political benefits that “aggression, genocide and other atrocities” are not achieved through military action.
Referring to Israel’s vision of the so-called “Great Israel,” Sheikh Qassem warned that Israel is actively pursuing this agenda with full US support.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently announced his public support for this expansionist program. The plan could expand Israeli borders to encompass parts of Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
In his remarks, Sheikh Qassem also called on Arab countries not to put pressure on Palestinian resistance, stressing that Palestine’s resilience remains strong.
