TEHRAN — An exhibition featuring selected archaeological and artistic treasures from Iran and China will officially open at the National Museum of Iran on Tuesday, October 14.
Organized by the Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism in collaboration with the National Museum of Iran, the exhibition is titled Al-Maghan-e-Absham (“Gift of Silk”) and will display artifacts from the ancient historical period to the Qajar period sourced from the National Museum, the World Heritage Golestan Palace, the Sheikh Safi al-Din al-Dabiri Complex, and Isfahan. The opening ceremony will be attended by Zhong Peiwu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iran, as well as other figures from the scientific, cultural and political circles of Iran and China. The event will be held in the Conference Hall of the Museum of Islamic Era within the National Museum.
In addition to organizing the exhibition, several publications will be published, including a special issue on cultural relations between ancient Iran and China, the Parse Archaeological Journal, and the official catalog of the exhibition.
According to the organizers, the exhibition aims to highlight the long-standing cultural exchanges between Iran and China through the lens of art and history.
