BEIRUT — Hezbollah commemorated the 40th anniversary of the founding of Imam Mahdi Scouts on Sunday at the Camille Chamoun Sports City.
More than 70,000 members from all over Lebanon participated in this great event, entitled “Gathering of the Generations of Said Nasrallah”.
At the end of the event, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem gave a speech and told members: “You are a bright future, pioneers of integrity and justice…You are the generation of Sayyed Nasrullah, following the path of Wilayat el-Faqih under the guidance of Imam Khamenei.”
The Hezbollah leader stressed that “Sayed Nasrallah is the master of the nation’s martyrs, who has watched over you and built contracts, commitments and hopes for you.”
Qasem added: “You are on the path of resistance. Resistance in its most comprehensive and widest sense is an educational, cultural, moral and political choice. Resistance is a struggle against oneself and against the enemy, a struggle for faith, will, position, solidity, pride and independence.”
He also pointed out that “resistance is a choice for young men and women, an education based on honesty, love for the motherland and protecting family and loved ones.”
Naji Fayyad, head of the Imam Mahdi Scouts, also spoke about the event and said, “We did not come to challenge anyone or set a record, but rather to challenge the enemy and show it to the generation of Sayyeds who will follow in his path.”
Fayyad added: “You are the future of tomorrow, the bearers of the flag, and Lebanon is not built on grudges and sectarian strife.”
The rally coincided with the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Hezbollah Secretary-General Saeed Hassan Nasrallah and Saeed Hashem Saffieddin.
Contrary to tradition, Saeed Nasrallah did not attend the Society’s annual meeting, even though he cherished it dearly. He often said, “I’m looking forward to it, I’m looking forward to it.”
Scout members awaited him with great anticipation and enthusiasm, listened to his speech for more than an hour and a half, and received moral and spiritual support that motivated them to volunteer and serve the community.
collective oath of allegiance
Members of the Scouts renewed their oath of allegiance and allegiance to the two martyrs and pledged to follow in their footsteps.
The Gathering of the Generations of Sayed Nasrallah is not a farewell to the anniversary of his martyrdom. Because his spirit is strongly present in every detail of their reconnaissance operations.
The rally was held in Sports City not only because it could accommodate tens of thousands of participants, but also because of the moral and emotional significance of the place where Saeed Nasrallah bid farewell to his people.
The program began at 9:20 a.m. and featured artistic, musical, and chant performances that expressed the generation’s continued commitment to the ideals of Saeed Nasrallah.
The event concluded with the national anthem “Salaam Ya Mahdi” (Arabic version of Iran’s national anthem “Salaam Farmande”), reflecting the country’s connection to martyr Saeed Hassan Nasrallah, who oversaw its creation from the beginning.
