TEHRAN – Israel’s massacre of about 12 civilians in the Gaza Strip following a ceasefire agreement has been strongly condemned.
The Hamas resistance movement has condemned a massacre carried out by Israeli occupation forces in Gaza’s eastern Zeitoun district, in which 11 members of the Abu Shaaban family, including women and children, were killed.
Hamas said the attacks reflected continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.
The resistance movement said in a statement that Israeli forces directly targeted the car of the Abu Shaban family as they checked their home with tank shells, killing 11 people, including seven children and three women.
“This horrific crime represents a clear violation of all humanitarian values and international law, and exposes Israel’s deliberate intention to target defenseless civilians without justifiable reason,” Hamas said.
The movement added that the massacre was carried out as part of the Israeli regime’s continued violation of the recently agreed ceasefire, noting that “the enemy continues to commit attacks and crimes against our people in clear violation of the commitments outlined in the agreement.”
“The blood of our children and women remains a direct target of the Zionist killing machine,” Hamas stressed, adding that the attack adds to the Israeli occupation regime’s long record of massacres and violations and further confirms its aggressive intentions.
The movement called on US President Donald Trump and international mediators to “take serious action to hold the Israeli occupation forces accountable for their violations and to ensure respect for the ceasefire agreement and the protection of civilians.”
It also called on the international community and human rights organizations to “fulfill their responsibilities and pressure the occupying forces to end their war crimes and acts of genocide against the Palestinian people, and to prosecute their criminal leaders.”
In a separate statement, Hamas called on the mediation authorities to continue their efforts to ensure the full implementation of the provisions of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, especially regarding the entry of adequate humanitarian aid. The movement emphasized the need to immediately establish a community support committee to begin managing Gaza’s affairs.
Hamas expressed gratitude for the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, which contributed to achieving a ceasefire, and expressed gratitude to all those who played an active role in preventing a “war of annihilation” and supporting the political, legal and humanitarian position of the Palestinian people.
The statement also praised the countries and organizations that stood by the Palestinian people, highlighting “those who have shed their blood alongside our people in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Similarly, Hamas praised the activists who joined Freedom Platoon to break the Gaza blockade and protesters around the world who expressed solidarity with Gaza.
Finally, the movement expressed its gratitude to the media for its help in exposing the “crimes of the enemy” and shining a light on the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing faced by the Palestinian people.
