TEHRAN – The American and Israeli regimes are fabricating the Iraqi threat to justify invasion and destabilize regional stability.
The occupying Israeli regime, backed by the US, is creating another false narrative, this time to justify its invasion of Iraq. Mossad claimed that Iraq’s anti-American occupation and anti-Daesh movement was preparing to attack the Zionist regime.
The propaganda came at a sensitive time, just days before the November 11 Iraqi elections that could change the country’s political future. The timing of these claims is clearly politically motivated and aimed at inciting fear and anxiety.
Propaganda disguised as “information”
American and Israeli media circulated reports that Mossad and the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) were “quietly preparing for new attack vectors from the east.” They claim that Iraqi security forces, including the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), are “positioned to launch coordinated missile and drone attacks against Israeli targets.”
In parallel, a false story is being circulated that Iranian Revolutionary Guards Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani is meeting with leaders of the Iraqi resistance movement. Kataib Hezbollah controls long-range drones. The occupation regime is attacking “logistics bases” near the Iran-Iraq border. “The 96th Gilad Division is conducting intensive training in the Jordan Valley.”
These hoaxes have no verified sources. They are part of a broader disinformation campaign to portray Iraq as an agent of Iran and justify future attacks by the Zionist regime and its backer, the United States.
defeat false claims
1. The Iraqi army is a national army and is not under foreign control.
The Iraqi armed forces, including the Popular Mobilization Forces, operate under the authority of the Supreme Commander of the Iraqi Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense. They are funded by Baghdad, not Tehran. Calling them under Iranian control is a clear attempt by the occupation regime and Washington to undermine Iraq’s sovereignty and independence.
2. Iraq wants peace, not another war.
After two decades of war and terrorism, the Iraqi government has made it clear that it strongly opposes any new conflict. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and National Security Adviser Qassim al-Araj have repeatedly made this clear.
As elections approach, Iraq is focused on stability, security, and reconstruction rather than confrontation with the Zionist regime or anyone else.
3. There is no evidence of a plan to attack Iraq.
There is no credible evidence that the Iraqi resistance movement is preparing to fire missiles or fly drones at the Israeli regime. The idea of a coordinated attack on Iraq is unrealistic and makes no military sense. This is intended to give the US and the occupation regime an excuse to attack Iraq and increase pressure on Iran.
4. Misrepresentations regarding contacts with Iranians
Claims that General Qani, commander of Iran’s Quds Force, commands the Iraqi resistance are false. If General Qani visits Iraq, he will meet with government officials, not resistance leaders. The Zionist regime and its US allies are twisting normal diplomatic and security protocols into a story of “terror coordination” to support their case.
5. Exaggerated stories about the resistance
Claims that Kataib Hezbollah, a wing of the Popular Mobilization Forces, controls long-range drones aimed at the Israeli regime are also false. The group has no interest in provoking new tensions, especially after assurances from the Baghdad government that U.S. occupation forces would withdraw from Iraq. These exaggerated claims only make Iraq seem like a threat and justify new acts of aggression by the United States and the occupation regime.
The real purpose behind propaganda
The Zionist regime’s “Eastern Front” claims are pure warmongering. By fabricating threats from Iraq, the Israeli regime and its American allies hope to justify attacks on Iraq’s sovereignty, interfere in future elections in Arab countries, and destabilize Iran’s borders. The goal is to divide the region and place it under American control.
The truth is simple. Iraqi forces will respond to Baghdad, not Tehran. Iraq, like Iran, seeks peace, not war. And military experts say there are no credible indications of plans to attack the Israeli regime.
This Zionist propaganda is not about defense. It is to create a pretext for a new invasion by the occupying regime and its supporter, the United States.
