[TEHRAN]Deputy Minister of Handicrafts Mariam Jalali-Dekordi met with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of South Africa to Iran Sehorokho Francis Moloi and emphasized strengthening joint relations in the field of handicrafts.
At the meeting, held at the Sadabad Historical and Cultural Complex with the aim of exploring ways to develop cooperation, the two sides exchanged views on various areas, including promoting the export of handicrafts, sharing experience and technical knowledge, and removing legal obstacles, Mehul News Agency reported.
Another main focus of the discussions was to lay the foundations for the establishment of a joint innovation center so that artists and artisans from both countries can create works and exchange experiences in an appropriate context.
Noting the charm, diversity and desirability of Iranian handicrafts, the South African Ambassador expressed interest that both countries rely on their civilization and rich history and that their common “stories and stories” can be transmitted to each other and introduced to the world in the form of handicrafts.
Iranian handicrafts have a rich history and are deeply embedded in the country’s cultural and artistic heritage. From exquisite Persian rugs and porcelain to decorative pottery, metalwork and textile art, Iranian crafts are known worldwide for their artistry and intricate designs.
