TEHRAN — Five travel agencies from Isfahan province have been selected to participate in the Iran Pavilion at the Madrid International Fitour 2026 exhibition to showcase the city’s cultural and historical capabilities to international tourists, said Amir Karamzadeh, head of the province’s tourism department.
He told ISNA that FITUR (International Tourism Fair), held annually in Madrid, is the second largest tourism market in the world after ITB Berlin.
He said the event will provide a unique platform to showcase each country’s tourism, cultural and historical capabilities, establish professional exchanges with international activists, and develop business and investment cooperation in the tourism sector.
Mr. Karamzadeh emphasized that an active presence in Fitur will not only enable the development of the foreign tourist market, but will also be the basis for presenting a true positive image of Iran to a global audience.
He added that participating in Fitur expo is a great opportunity to develop the tourism market. He said that investment packages were prepared in Arabic and English for the event, and special content was produced in Spanish to be showcased at the Iran Pavilion. These measures will allow the private sector to introduce its capabilities and services internationally and establish direct contacts with foreign institutions, he noted.
The Director of Tourism said that he did not see any major challenges in the process of introducing Isfahan’s cultural heritage and tourist attractions. He added that the Minister of Cultural Heritage and the Governor of Isfahan fully support these activities.
“The biggest challenge we may face is the problem of Iranophobia, but with a smart presence, effective advertising and the experience of foreign tourists, we are gradually solving this problem and presenting the true picture of Iran to an international audience,” Karamzadeh said.
He said, “Fitoor is a good opportunity to promote international cooperation, and at this exhibition B2B meetings will be held and several memorandums of understanding will be signed between countries. The Minister of Cultural Heritage will also attend this event to facilitate the process of exchange and cooperation.
