TEHRAN – Ardabil Governorate will present 112 investment opportunities in tourism, handicrafts and related services at an international conference on Thursday, a provincial official revealed.
Jalil Jabari, director of Ardabil’s Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, said the opportunity will be presented at the Ardabil International Investment Conference scheduled for November 26.
Mr. Jabari said the state is working to promote conditions for major tourism investment holdings.
According to organizers, the conference will be held in conjunction with Expo 2025 Ardabil, which will be held from November 26 to 28.
Jabari announced last week that between 350 and 400 trillion rials ($350 million to $400 million) have already been invested in tourism projects in Ardabil, with progress rates ranging from 20% to 70% in some cases. He said 90 projects are currently underway, creating an estimated 4,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Located in the highlands of northwest Iran, Ardabil is known for its natural scenery, hospitality, and long-standing silk and carpet trade. Home to Sheikh Safi al-Din Khanega and the Shrine Ensemble, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it attracts many tourists, especially in the summer.
