TEHRAN—A number of tour guides in South Khorasan Province have organized a special tour known as FAM Tour, with the aim of knowing and introducing the tourism potential of the villages of Deihuk district of Tabas city.
Announcing this, Mohammad Arab, Deputy Director of the South Khorasan Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, said that the program was held for two days in the presence of 15 official guides of the province, adding that on the first day, the participants visited the tourist village of Naiband and experienced first-hand the potential of this beautiful village, including the Dig-e-Rustam hot springs, historical features and farmlands and palm groves, protected areas and Moksur Castle. This was reported by Milas Aria News Agency (CHTN).
The Arabs added that on the second day they were able to get acquainted with the customs, handicrafts, souvenirs, historical texture, natural and agricultural potential of Esfandyar village.
He continued that finally, a meeting was held with the guides to consider their issues and requests and to utilize their capabilities to showcase the state’s various capacities that will help in the development of domestic tourism.
Esfandyar village, part of the Dey Houk district in Tabas city, South Khorasan province, is home to old terraced houses, water wheels, handicrafts and lush nature.
This year, the first Saffron Festival was held with the cooperation of local people and was well received.
He said the fam tour, carried out in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Heritage and local activists, gave the guides an opportunity to better understand the region’s potential for sustainable tourism development.
He explained that FAM tours or FAM travel industry, also known as famization tours, provides tourists from target market states and countries with the opportunity to get acquainted with the reality, attractiveness, quality of service and safety of the target region.
Therefore, one of the successful marketing techniques and tools is the organization of understanding tours, which are conducted by all major countries in the tourism industry, he added.
He noted that these trips are primarily carried out by tourism activists, airlines and tour organizers, but also include tourism industry professionals, photographers, tour leaders, bloggers and journalists, and travel consultants, who are increasingly introducing the region’s attractions to the world through influencers.
