TEHRAN Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned that if the United States or Israel crosses Tehran’s “no-crossing line,” it could trigger retaliatory attacks and deprive the United States and its allies of oil and gas in the region for years. The statement came after the IRGC claimed responsibility for a new wave of attacks under Phase 99 of Operation True Promise 4.
The Revolutionary Guards said its naval and aerospace forces targeted U.S. military bases and interests in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and military command centers in the occupied Palestinian territories in a coordinated strike early Tuesday morning. Medium-range missiles and suicide drones attacked two major petrochemical complexes in Saudi Arabia, the Revolutionary Guards said. One was owned by American companies Sadara, ExxonMobil and Dow Chemical in Al Jubail, and the other was owned by Chevron Phillips in Al Juaimah.
The Revolutionary Guards also reported colliding with an Israeli-owned container ship in the United Arab Emirates’ port of Khorfakkan, which was transporting military equipment to Israel by bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. US aircraft carrier group CVN-72 was attacked by a naval long-range cruise missile in the deep Indian Ocean, the Revolutionary Guards added.
The Revolutionary Guards said it would not launch attacks on civilian targets, but would not hesitate to attack Iranian civilian infrastructure. He warned that if the “U.S. terrorist army” crossed a red line, Iran’s response would expand beyond the region. The Revolutionary Guards also called on America’s regional partners to understand that while Iran has shown restraint in the interest of good neighborly relations, “all such considerations have now been set aside.”
