TEHRAN – Gaza’s government media chief said the ceasefire agreement that entered into force on Sunday between Israel and Hamas signifies a victory for the Palestinian people.
Ismail al-Twabta said in an interview with Mehr news agency that Palestinian resistance forced Israel to sign the cease-fire agreement.
“This ceasefire agreement represents a victory for the Palestinian people, as it highlights Israel’s inability to take control of Gaza and break the will of the resistance.”
Altwabta touched on Israel’s crimes during the Gaza war, particularly against the press.
Israel has killed 214 journalists in brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip since October 2023.
“Official complaints have been filed against the Zionist regime regarding crimes against journalists. “It will be a long time coming,” Altwabta said.
Reporters Without Borders called Israeli violence against journalists in the Gaza Strip a “flagrant example of war crimes.”
