The UAE president and ruler visited Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday and said he was opposed to the forced ouster of Palestinians, UAE state media reported.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reaffirmed the solid stance of the United Arab Emirates and has refused any attempt to drive the Palestinians out of their lands,” said WAM, the Emirati province’s news agency.
The exchange took place during Rubio’s four-day Middle East tour this week.
Tami Bruce, a spokesman for the US State Department, said Rubio’s tour will focus on regional cooperation, freeing American prisoners of war and reaching the next stage of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
President Nahyan told Rubio at a meeting in Abu Dhabi that it is important to ensure regional stability by restructuring Gaza “on a path leading to inclusive and lasting peace based on two state solutions.” He said.
The United Arab Emirates are a surprise to many. Because it normalized ties with Israel during the first Trump administration and concluded the modest contact between the two countries.
Both states have signed bilateral agreements on investment, tourism, direct flights, security, communications and other issues. The United Arab Emirates launched its embassy in Tel Aviv in 2021.
The United Arab Emirates is important as they conducted role funding restructuring work after previous conflicts. Around 2.3 million people in Gaza are homeless as a result of Israeli military attacks on Gaza over the past 16 months. Almost every home in Gaza has been damaged or destroyed, according to the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Cooperation.
Furthermore, President Nahyan’s position has put a spanner on Trump’s proposal to turn Gaza into a “Middle Eastern Riviera,” reset Palestinians in Egypt and Jordan, and resettle Palestinians amid the “acquisition” in Gaza. I’ll throw it. It is called the world and “ethnic cleansing.”
Leaders from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar will discuss plans in Riyadh this month before the emergency Arab summit in Cairo.
In a statement regarding Bruce’s meeting with President Rubio, he said, “Secretary of State Marco Rubio has met with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, United Arab Emirates President.
“This conference confirmed the vitality of U.S. strategic partnerships. The Secretary expressed his gratitude for the strength and enduring nature of the relationship, which is a mutual relationship for strong economic ties, defense cooperation and regional stability. It is characterized by profit.
“The conversation also included the remaining challenges in Gaza, ways to improve stability across Syria, Lebanon and the region, and how to deal with the threat to freedom of voyage in the Red Sea.”
