Egyptian Prime Minister Mushamama Madburi met with Palestinian counterpart Mohammad Mustafa in Cairo on Saturday to discuss the early recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza, which will be announced at the scheduled emergency Arab Summit on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Egyptian government said: “Madburi welcomed Mustafa at Cairo’s prime minister’s headquarters, where both sides reviewed important aspects of the reconstruction plan.”
Madburi added that Egypt’s “unwavering support for the Palestinians and their legitimate rights, particularly the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the border on June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
He said, in line with President Abdel Fatta al-Sisi’s direction, “The Egyptian government has prepared a comprehensive plan for the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, ensuring that Palestinian citizens remain on the strip during the reconstruction process.”
The Egyptian Prime Minister said, “Egypt is making every effort to support the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people.
Palestinian Prime Minister Mustafa expressed “his profound gratitude for Egypt’s efforts to support the Palestinians,” the statement said.
