TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Fahan made an emergency call on Friday to address the Israeli regime’s escalating war crimes in Palestine.
The Minister has pledged joint action through Islamic groups, focusing on Israel’s designed hunger in Gaza and its illegal West Bank annexation plan.
Aragut condemned Israel’s intentional hunger tactics, particularly food and medicine blockades, and warned that the regime’s expansionist ambitions are being proven by new knesset measures to impose control of the West Bank.
He urged an international mechanism to break the siege and halt genocide with the organisation of Islamic cooperation (OIC).
Bin Fahan has repeatedly prepared for Saudi Arabia’s cooperation, highlighting the need for “practical and immediate measures” through the Arab-Islamic initiative.
The minister also emphasized deepening bilateral coordination amid the regional crisis and discussed Iran’s nuclear negotiations with European powers.
Iran and Bangladesh are seeking OIC sessions
Additionally, Araguchi and Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Md. Touhid Hossain was convened by phone on Thursday to condemn Israeli atrocities and demand immediate OIC intervention.
As part of a “criminal plan to erase Palestine,” Iran’s top diplomats denounced Israel’s annexation design in the West Bank, urging Islamic countries to activate “all international mechanisms,” halt genocide and hurry to aid Gaza.
Hossain called for “decisive action” through the OIC, with both ministers reaffirming bilateral relations and sharing regional perspectives.
Araguchi also thanked Bangladesh for condemning the recent US-Israel invasions against Iran.
Esmail Baghhai, a spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, explained more about the deliberate nature of the humanitarian crisis. Israel and the United States claimed they framed Israeli-US hunger through a deliberate policy cited the 2021 rejection of the Landmark United Nations resolution in favor of human rights food access.
In a statement on Friday on X, Baghaei emphasized that Resolution 76/166 (explicitly banning hunger as a way of war) opposed only to Israel and the United States, asking “whether their opposition showed a planned policy of using food as a weapon?”
Gaza’s “Death Stage”
The unfolding tragedy of the situation in Gaza has been marked tragically by a fatal 24-hour Israeli attack on the strip, including the murder of 34 Palestinians at aid distribution points.
More than 1,000 civilians have been confirmed to have been shot and killed in recent months while seeking food, according to a UN report.
Despite global protests, Israel has been implementing lockdowns almost simultaneously since March, gathering minimal aid through the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The scheme has led civilians to criticize the “sterile zone” of forced controlled biometric authentication in southern Gaza as a concentration camp.
“We cannot manipulate where armed actors exist,” said Ross Smith, emergency director of the United Nations World Food Programme, who has effectively recognized aid paralysis across 88% of Gaza under evacuation orders or militarized zones. As 2.1 million displaced people face “running nowhere”, food production is collapsed and water infrastructure is in abandoned.
Acute malnutrition is killed as efficiently as ammunition.
-470,000+ face hunger (IPC Phase 5 “Cat”)
– 75% of households report significant water instability
– The price of flour increases by 3,000%. Family survives with one meal every day
The latest report shows that more than 59,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023.
As Baghaei emphasized, this constitutes the “ethnic cleansing” made possible by Western supporters where inaction is “disgrace.”
