Tehran Anse’s painting exhibition by Iranian veteran actor Reza Babak was presented at the Seres Gallery in Tehran on Friday.
The exhibition entitled “ba babak” (literally means babak) exhibits a selection of paintings created by artists in recent years, Honaronlein reported.
The exhibition description reads: “Rezabak has painted alongside his acting career over the years. His paintings are poetic, delicate and charming, just like his unforgettable roles in film. In his artwork, he appears to be an unpainted interlies, not a potential imagination.
Regarding his paintings, Babac said: “I’ve been drawing for many years and there have been long gaps due to other jobs, but when I wasn’t acting in theater or film, painting freed my emotions and energy and filled the void of not playing a role.”
This is Babaku’s second solo painting exhibition. His previous exhibition was held in 2000 at Saku School of Art in Tehran.
79-year-old Reza Babak has performed in over 60 films and television series. His films include Ballad of Tara (1979), Ballad of Tara by Buram Beizai, Heritage (1988), Kazem Barusi, The Singing Cat (1990), and both Purple Colors (2004) and Invitation (2008) by Cambusian Pertvi. “Ziba Barbershop” (1990-1991) by Marzieh Boroumand and “The Safe” (2009) by Maziar Miri are one of his famous series.
The “Ba Babak” exhibition will be held until April 28th at Ceres Gallery, located at 148 on Karim Khan Zand Boulevard, between Iranshia and Mashar Streets.
