Tehran – Iranian musician, composer and pianist Mahin Zarinpanje passed away on June 1st at the age of 87 in Salman Shahl, Mazandara province.
Her father, Naslora Zarinpanje, is a player and instructor for Tar and Setar, and her mother Saffy Yegane played Tar and Tonbak, Mehr reported.
She began her research at the National Conservatory of Music under the direction of Master Luhola Haregi. There he learned the arts and science of music from masters such as Halegi, Aborasan Sabah, Hossein Tehranni and Javad Maloofi. She then studied European classical music and piano under Emmanuel Merik Aslanian, and continued to train in Iran with Morteza Majoubi.
After completing her research, she joined the Ministry of Culture and Arts, and after the formation of a female orchestra, she became its conductor. She also played piano solos in other orchestras.
In the 1980s she moved to England, then to France and the United States, where she continued to teach piano.
After a long time apart in recent years, she returned to Iran, settled in the north of the country, and resumed her education and musical composition.
Mahin Zarrinpanjeh has created over 60 musical works, some of which have been recorded and performed by orchestra majors around the world.
