Tehran – Tehran’s city’s arts and culture organization has launched a storytelling initiative entitled “Storytelling Mother” to help children connect with important human values.
The organization invited all enthusiasts of children’s literature to read and record stories centered around Iran, its heroes and national progress for young audiences, the IRNA reported on Friday.
The initiative aims to provide a deeper understanding of the human values of children, while highlighting the challenges they faced during the defense of their hometown, the report added.
This program encourages everyone to participate, regardless of gender or whether they have children or not. Participants are invited to read stories that reflect Iranian stories, introducing the strength of the country and its heroes, and promoting the positive outlook for the country’s future builders. Furthermore, stories that bring joy and happiness to children are welcomed with this initiative.
Experts believe that listening to good stories during difficult times strengthens and calms children. Additionally, storytelling helps mothers manage their negative emotions and offers opportunities to raise not only entertainment, but also brave children who take pride in their country in the age of defense.
Participants will be asked to submit stories in audio format for up to three minutes via Iranian messaging application. Works that meet quality and content standards will be uploaded to the “Mother of Storytelling” channel on national messaging platforms.
This initiative not only promotes literacy and creativity among children, but also promotes a sense of community among participants. By sharing stories that emphasize cultural heritage and national pride, individuals can contribute to collective narratives that strengthen social ties.
The program is expected to encourage parents and caregivers to become more active in children’s literature development and to promote an environment in which storytelling becomes a critical family activity. Through this collaborative effort, organizers hope to create a treasure trove of stories that can instill the value of resilience, courage and love to their homeland in a young mind. It also serves as a tool for education and emotional healing during challenging times and as a reminder of the power of storytelling.
