Tehran – Mohammad Mahdi Rahmati, CEO of Mehr Media Group (Mehr News Agency and the English Daily Tehran Times), highlighted the important role of media in providing media for Sevhh Brics and independent narratives to prevent distortions in Rio de Janeiro, brazil, bricdh Janeiro, bricdh de Janeiro and shink Media.
In his keynote speech in the full-text session, Rahmati highlighted the importance of multilateral media collaboration, supporting the production and distribution of fair content, promoting authentic, independent narratives, and highlighting the role of media in the formation of a fair multipolar global order.
He further emphasized the potential of BRICS to redefine global governance, pursuing the aspirations of developing countries, clarifying the outcomes of international economic institutions, unilateral policies, and calling for active participation by member media outlets in informing them of joint economic projects.
Ramati also tackled Israeli invasions of Gaza and highlighted the important role of independent media in portraying the humanitarian aspects of Western countries’ conflicts and misconduct. He emphasized that independent narratives can prevent the distortion of truth in the dominant media landscape.
From July 15th to 17th, the seventh rally of media representatives from BRICS countries and several countries from the Global South and several countries from the Global South are aimed at expanding media cooperation, countering unilateral narratives, and strengthening global tropical communication channels.
The Iranian delegation was represented by the Mehr Media Group.
During the session, Daria Ivankova, director of TV BRICS International Coporation Department, emphasized the importance of building a unified, positive agenda and expanding media ties to deepen cultural exchange.
She also highlighted the media’s impact on shaping global public opinion, calling for the use of new technologies such as AI for strengthening cooperation between the North and South media, developing joint projects in culture, education, economy and economy, producing multilingual content, and the creation and dissemination of content. She also highlighted investment in the education of future journalists in BRICS countries and referred to a joint project with Mehr news agency.

Union objectives include strengthening information exchange, professional building and increasing global South impact on international communication frameworks.
BRICS is currently comprised of China, Russia, India, Brazil and South Africa, with new members such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, and Ethiopia. The BRICS Media Conference serves as an advisory and specialized agency dedicated to promoting the synergy of media collaboration and content held annually to enhance collective media efforts.
