Tehran – A Persian translation of the book “My Friends,” written by Swedish author Fredrik Bachman, was released in Iranian bookstores.
Elaheh Alavi translated the book, and Tadaee Publications published it on 456 pages, Mehr reported.
Originally published in 2025, the book is a New York Times bestseller. The author of “A Man Cale Ove” returns in 25 years later with an unforgettable, deeply moving story of four teenagers whose life-changing friendships of a complete stranger create bonds.
Most people don’t notice them. Three small figures sitting at the edge of a long pier at the corner of the world’s most famous paintings. Most people think that’s just a portrayal of the ocean. But Louisa, the aspiring artist herself, knows that it is not, and she is determined to learn about the stories of these three enigmatic figures.
Twenty-five years ago, in a distant seaside town, a group of teenagers spend a long summer on an abandoned pier, evacuating from the lives of their brutal homes by telling stupid jokes, sharing secrets, and committing small acts of a small rebellion. These lost souls find each other reasons to wake up, dream, and love each other each other.
Over the summer, transcendent works of art appear. This is an unexpected painting that takes care of 18-year-old Louisa. She embarks on a surprise cross-country journey to learn how the painting turned out and decide what to do with it. The closer she gets to the painting’s birthplace, the more she becomes nervous about what she finds. Louisa is proof that happy endings in this stunning testimony do not always take the form they expect from the transformative, timeless power of friendship and art.
