TEHRAN – The 24th Tehran auction, dedicated to modern Iranian art, ended on Friday with a total sales of $1,472,130, with “One Golden Winter Hunt” by Reza Delafshani setting the record at $154,000.
This edition of the auction featured 120 works by 117 established, well-known, emerging artists in a variety of fields of visual arts, including painting, calligraphy painting, sculpture and photography. According to the IRNA, of the total work, only six pieces remained unsold.
The other most expensive piece in this edition was Masoud Arabshahi’s painting entitled “Relief” that delivers $138,600, and Kourosh Shishegaran’s “still life” sold for $138,000.
The 24th Tehran auction included works by well-known artists such as Sorab Seperi, Parbane Etemadi, Abbasquiarostami, Jazetabai, Nasrola Afjehai, Parviztanaboli, Feredun Abe, Mohammad Aritalagija, Mansar Ganeng, Hauzal, Hauzalyan Young, and Manzur Ganduan Ali. Shabahangi, Hadi Hazavei, Ardeshir Mohassess, Hanibbal Alkhas, Reza Bangiz, Ebrahim Haghighi, and more.
The first terren auction of this kind in Iran was launched in 2012 as an independent private initiative, ranging from Iranian artists to best Iranian artists to art collectors and global audiences.
It aims to address the growing interest in contemporary and contemporary Iranian art and promote the acquisition of quality works in a reliable way.
