Tehran-Directed and produced by Mariam Sharifzadeh, Iranian short film Mania has received a great reputation in the summer edition of the Top Indie Film Awards held in Tokyo recently.
The film won Best Message Award, while Farhad Mahmoudi was awarded the Best Cinematography Award for his cooperation in the project.
Additionally, Mansoule Talk Zavan was nominated for Best Editorial for his work as a “Mania” and the film was also selected as a finalist in the Best Short Film category.
“Mania” is the story of a woman who begins to suspect her husband’s suspicious behavior. Her allegations lead to revealing the disturbing secret that he is involved in organ trafficking.
Top Indie Film Awards aims to recognize and honor the talent and passion of independent filmmakers around the world. Unlike mainstream Hollywood films, which often prioritize branding and marketing over originality or artistic vision, this awards platform recognizes the need for enormous effort to create engaging films regardless of budget constraints. The organization understands the challenges faced by indie filmmakers, from scripts to production, and aims to give them true recognition through a range of awards. In doing so, Top Indie Film Awards empower independent creators and help them gain popularity and credibility in a competitive industry where small-scale works are often overlooked.
